Rara Avis or “Rare Bird” means uncommon or exceptional. Our Rara Avis fortified wine is a celebration of the bounty of organic haskap berries raised on our pristine BC valley farm.
The result is a full-bodied, fruity wine that tantalizes the palate with a sweet, wild blend of blackberry, caramel, and a faintly spiced finish, reminiscent of the hummingbirds in our fields.
Hummingbirds are a symbol of good luck and signify intelligence, beauty, devotion, and love.
And with Kalala Organic Winery behind it, you can trust that this wine is crafted in a truly magical place. Our new haskap fortified wine is fermented wine that includes the addition of distilled alcohol to raise the alcohol percentage to 18.5%.
